Woke up at 6 a.m., had my coffee (obviously), and swam from 6:30 to 7:30 — because apparently, that’s what responsible adults do before breakfast. Then I read the newspaper like a civilized person and treated myself to breakfast from 9 to 9:30, featuring freshly baked whole-grain bread from our local Currywurst master — yes, that’s a thing. Around 10 a.m., I picked up the usual lunch for the week from Mae-Ann’s Mami Pares across the street.
Last week was quiet and peaceful, almost suspiciously so. Still waiting for the delivery of the Apple AirPods Pro 3, a birthday gift from my husband. With a bit of luck, they might actually show up today — or maybe in time for my next birthday, who knows.
Other than that, not much to report: spirits are high, life’s running in slow motion, and stress levels are practically extinct. Around 4 p.m., I’ll go swimming again, and after that it’s the sacred evening ritual — streaming. First some true-crime until the TV bleeds, then whatever’s left of our current Netflix series.
And before you know it — boom — it’s 9 p.m., lights out, and the kids are off to bed.
Greetings from the life of an exile!
